OUR STORY 

HISTORY

The Icing Co.’s inception and journey to produce Australia’s No.1 Buttercream Icing was forged alongside its creator, Susan Eversmann-Johanns. Her success within the Cake Decorating Industry and commitment to creating the finest Icing in the market, spans not only decades, but continents. 

From as early as 1996, as an American new to Australia, Susan fell in love with cake decorating after her first cake decorating class at the Greensborough Cake Decorating Centre. It was during her preparation for this first class that she made her first ever batch of Icing. It only took that one class for Susan to set her sights on a career in the Cake Decorating Industry, where she ultimately created the world’s best tasting Icing for all to enjoy.

Susan continued in her new direction to perfect her cake decorating skills by attending classes both nationally and internationally. She had the privilege of being taught by world renowned cake decorators in classes of all mediums of cake decorating including Buttercream Icing, Fondant Icing, Chocolate and Isomalt, giving her an extensive education in Cake Decorating. She then returned from America equipped with the skills and knowledge to introduce the Australian public to a buttercream style Icing that rivals all others.

Soon after, Susan began teaching Icing classes at the scene of her first life changing class, Greensborough Cake Decorating Centre. Her own business, Susan’s Novelty Cakes was also growing and once Susan took over the Greensborough Cake Decorating Centre in August of 2004, she had the platform to further test her Icing recipe. By 2017, Susan’s Signature Icing became a standard offering of the Decorating Centre and was popular with customers and students alike. In unfortunate circumstances and health challenges, Susan took a step back from teaching and had a look at the disappointing icings that were available in the Australian market. After sampling what was available, she approached Australia’s largest cake decorating wholesaler with her icing.

And the rest is history. The Icing Co. was established early in 2017 and fast forward to today, our Icing is now readily available to Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom for all to enjoy.

THE PRODUCT

What makes The Icing Co. Icing so superior? Besides the delicious vanilla taste, our Icing is the perfect consistency, making it ideal for Icing, Filling and Cake Decorating.

All of our vibrant colours are a delicious Vanilla Flavour and we also have a Chocolate and Caramel Flavour, making 14 different colours of Icing Co. Icing to choose from.

The Icing available from The Icing Co. can be applied in a variety of ways.  From a thin crumb coat to keep the crumbs from getting into your decorations to the thickness between the layers of a torte, The Icing Co.’s special brand of Icing with its superior crusting ability, makes it the perfect base for creative and intricate designs.

There is no need to refrigerate our Icing Co. Icing. It has a 12 month shelf life and with its freeze and thaw stability, cakes can be fully decorated, then frozen and simply need to be thawed on the kitchen bench to be special occasion ready.  

We are proudly Australian made and contain nearly 100% Australian ingredients. Our Icing is produced on site in a HACCP approved facility to ensure the highest quality in every batch.  Our product is gluten, nut and dairy free fulfilling many dietary requirements. With so much going for it, our Icing is the superior and unrivalled option within the Cake Decorating and Baking Industries.
